I found this PAGE congratulating Ion Dosca with his
birthday. I tried to convert it into English using Systran
automated translator - but it translated last name "Doska" to
"Board" and I decided against the translation!
Charles Thompson, in his "20 Greatest Players", deservedly praised Mr.
Doska (this is how the name is written in Russian), winner of
the 2000 APCA tournament. I might just add - with the name
like "Doska", which literally means "a checkers board" how
could one not play great?
By the way - the second line from the bottom
leads to his best games. In case your Russian is not as
good as mine here is the direct LINK.

I enjoyed the game,
however, it doesn't mention who he was playing against. I was
in hope to see some of the games he played in the 2001 APCA
Tournament. It was my understanding the Link would show some
of his best GAMES, I only saw one game.
This is a
correction to the above statement; it was my error and
carelessness. After taking a closer look at what Jake had
said, I found him to be absolutely correct. A blunder on my
part, and some very good and interesting games. My blunder
almost cost me a wonderful treat.
Thanks very much
Jake, you are so kind to the viewers of this site to keep us
informed about the greatness of checkers and some of the great
games played. We appreciate very much your outstanding works
and time you have given to the site for our pleasure. And it
is a "PLEASURE" to view the magnificient works you've done to
this site <CHECKERS USA>

Thanks Filippov for the
kind words. I only wish people started responding to various
topics like Regional Tournaments idea that Pecan was working
so hard to present here.
Regarding the "only one
game". You are obviously not yet familiar with Tdam applets.
The very last button is "list" - when you click on it it opens
a list of games to choose from. Look at the applets (THIS one for example) on our site that use
English - there too the last button offer a list of
games. | |

I just played a few games
from that list - the games are fantastic - but there are many
games and because it does not maintain which game you just
looked at it is very very hard to select the next game.
The strange letters you see are not Russian - to see
Russian you must install a correct Russian font on your
computer - AND understand Russian! | |
